  A 14-year-old girl identified as Aisha Isah has been arrested for allegedly murdering her 40-year-old husband, Isiaka Usman.  According to reports, the teenage bride who was married to Usman (who is also her cousin) for 5 months, was said to have murdered him using a pestle for daring to slap her.  Aisha who hails from Lifari village in Mashegu local government area of Niger state, was arrested by the police after the news got out that she killed her husband.  She had reportedly killed her husband in a fit of anger after she had questioned him for not providing for her at all, for about two days prior.   Northern City News reported that 14-year-old Aisha often complained of starvation and neglect since she moved in with Usman and his two wives. One of Usman's wives was said to have even left him due to the fact that he was unable to take care of their responsibilities.  A female student from Enugu state Ali Cynthia Chineche has passed her May/June 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with flying colours.  The student set the record high after she made all A's in her nine subjects. The Co-ordinator of the Centrum Initiative for Development and Fundamental Rights Advocacy, Dr. John Danfulani, has said the people of Southern Kaduna would prefer to go with the Biafra Republic in the eventuality of Nigeria’s disintegration. Danfulani spoke in Umuahia, Abia State, when he paid a solidarity visit to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. He said the people of Southern Kaduna “share a lot of values in common with Biafrans,” and would not hesitate to follow them “if Nigeria breaks up.” He bemoaned the fate of minority ethnic nationalities in Southern Kaduna who are mostly Christians, condemning what he called “government’s indifference” to their ordeals following incessant “unprovoked attacks by herdsmen.” He said, “If Nigeria breaks up, we won’t go with the North. A BEOKUTA— A 41-year-old man, Sikiru Odejide, who has been sleeping with his 13-year-old daughter (names withheld) since December 2016, has blamed the devil for his action. The Ogun State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the arrest of the randy father was as a result of a complaint from the victim’s mother, who has been separated from the man. Oyeyemi said the victim’s mother reported at Sango Police Station that her daughter came to her house at Ijeshatedo area of Lagos State to inform her that her father had been having carnal knowledge of her since December 2016 with a threat to kill her if she dares tells anybody about it. PORT HARCOURT: The heavy flood yesterday that affected many parts of Port Harcourt, took over the office of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Rivers State. The flood that emanated from the overflowing of a canal on Aba-Port Harcourt expressway submerged over 10 cars including the operational vehicles of the FRSC. The heavy down pour, Saturday and Sunday caused flooding in many areas in Rivers State, including Aggah Community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government area, some part of Rumuosi in Obio/Akpor, parts of Rumuolumeni and others. At press time, all attempts to reach Sector Commander in charge of Rivers State, Mr. Imoh Jonah Etuk, were fruitless, but a senior officer of the command who pleaded anonymity said: “The whole of D/Line area of Port Harcourt flooded. U GHELLI— A clash between Uwheru and Unenurhe communities of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State over the murder of a youth from Uwheru, weekend, reportedly claimed the lives of two people with several others sustaining various degrees of gunshot and machete wounds.
