DSS Arrest Man Who Was Caught Trying To Buy Votes During Anambra Election (Photo)

Published by Juanita Federal agents monitoring the Anambra gubernatorial election have whisked away an elderly man allegedly caught swaying voters with money. Just as the governorship election in some areas in Anambra state has started, a man was arrested by officials of the Department of State Services, DSS for allegedly trying to buy votes in the ongoing election. A social media user discreetly took a photo of the alleged election offender being escorted away by the secret service.

While the news of his death spread on Friday, he died on Wednesday, November 15th after a brief illness. His friends have taken to social media to pay tribute to him. He said this when he granted an interview on Police preparedness for the Saturday November 18 poll. Habila said the people enjoyed the funfair, the carnival, the talking, jubilation and the dancing during the Campaigns, they will as well enjoy the Voting part of the electioneering process. He also assured them that the Nigeria Police has emplaced robust security arrangement to secure the good and law abiding people of Anambra State before, during and after the election. 11 year old commits suicide in Australia

He died in a hospital near Vienna on Monday after being admitted a day earlier, police said. It was unclear how he killed himself. The boy and his family had been living in a refugee centre in Baden, south of the capital, since last year, when a record influx of migrants arrived in Austria. Media reports said the boy felt unable to cope with looking after his six siblings after his 23-year-old elder brother left him in charge. According to public broadcaster Oe1, officials had been made aware of the family’s precarious situation but failed to react. Authorities have rejected the accusations, saying they had noticed “nothing unusual”. Austrian ombudsman Guenther Kraeuter announced Friday he would open an inquiry. Austria has received almost 150,000 asylum claims since 2015, making the wealthy nation of 8.75 million one of the highest recipients

Published by Juanita A 65-year-old Louisiana man who was arrested at the age of 19 and wrongly jailed without parole walked out of prison on Wednesday, after his rape conviction was overturned by a judge. According to reports, Wilbert Jones was arrested on suspicion of abducting a nurse at gunpoint from a Baton Rouge hospital's parking lot and raping her behind a building on the night of Oct. 2, 1971.  The nurse, who died in 2008, picked Jones out of a police lineup more than three months after the rape. Jones was convicted of aggravated rape at a 1974 retrial and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.                    On Wednesday, State District Judge Richard Anderson overturned his conviction saying authorities withheld evidence that could have exonerated Wilbert Jones decades ago and their case against him was “weak at best,”. “Freedom. After more than 45 years and ten months. That’s going through my mind,” Jones said as he hugged his b
